Fired Bulgaria women's volleyball coach, Slovenian Dragutin Baltic, has sent no lewd text messages to his players, according to a check conducted at the request by the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation.

A sex scandal broke out after two players, Hristina Ruseva and Tsvetelina Zarkova, reported to media that they received texts from Baltic in which he sexually harassed them by inviting him to pay a private visit to his room.

The Volleyball Federation reacted by promptly firing Baltic and requesting a check of his phone traffic at the mobile operator.

The check registered no text messages whatsoever between the fired coach and his players at the time they alleged he solicited to entertain sexual intercourse with them.

Substitute Dimo Tonev, who before the scandal was deputy to Baltic, has also spoken out to defend his colleague.

The Bulgarian Volleyball Federation has stated that they will refer the case to the Prosecutors's Office and that they expect a prompt and competent resolution of the matter.

Dragutin Baltic was appointed as Bulgaria's women's volleyball national team head coach end of March.
