Weather In Bulgaria On April 30: Cloudy with Rain and Thunderstorms Expected
Over the next 24 hours, much of the country will experience significant cloudiness, accompanied by widespread rain in Central and Eastern Bulgaria
Hotel owners in Bulgaria's largest and most popular summer resort Sunny Beach are mulling having a curfew to diminish groups of drunken tourists roaming the resort at night.
The owners demand that bars stop serving alcohol after midnight to counter the overnight crowds, people getting sick and the unbearable noise, the Bulgarian Standart (Standard) daily writes.
They say incidents such as vacationers walking around with buckets filled with alcohol tied to their necks are inadmissible in a European resort.
"We have nothing to do with such happenings; they are precisely the reason our beach vacations have been labeled "alcohol tourism" – because of this organized bar hopping," the Head of the Hotel Owners Association, Elena Ivanova, is quoted saying. She stresses the owners publically reject any responsibility about turning Bulgaria into a place for alcohol binging.
Travel agents, however, are against such restrictions and give Cyprus as an example, pointing out the ban on alcohol tourism at the time had led to a 12% decrease in the number of tourists.
