There are serious violations in the doctor's treatment of Milko Mihlaev, leading to the amputation of the patient's right arm.

This is the conclusion from the investigation in the case executed by the Executive Agency Medical Audit. In a press release, the Bulgarian Health Ministry informs financial sanctions are pending after the completion of the probe.

Preliminary results show that a full medical history of the patient has not been taken prior the treatment; the doctor did not take into account other ailments, and did not order all needed medical tests.

The Health Ministry is also expecting the report of a group of independent cardiology experts.

In the beginning of July, Milko Mihalev, 42, from the town of Provadiya, near Varna lost his right arm after a procedure prescribed by a cardiologist.
