The overnight blast at the headquarters of Bulgaria's conservative party Order, Law and Justice (RZS) party is a professional terrorist attack, according to party leader of Yane Yanev.
Yanev, who spoke Tuesday for the Bulgarian National Radio, BNR, said such act had no analogue and the fact the explosion happened just steps away from the building of the Council of Ministers, at a location where several banks have security cameras, was extremely alarming.
"The office of another right-wing party, Democrats for Strong Bulgaria, DSB, was also blasted at the same time – this is the work of the same people," the RZS leader pointed out, adding the two bombs, happening in the eve of the no-confidence vote against the government showed fear, coming from those who do not want the truth to be told.
Yanev further said the fact that the latest blast and the one at the offices of Galeria, an anti-government newspaper, early on February 10, occurred right before the release of the next European Commission's report was very significant.
RZS further issued the following declaration:
"During the night of July 19, a bomb went off in front of the RZS headquarters in Sofia. It is obvious this is the work of those, who see our promise to fire Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, ASAP as a threat – the end of the criminal transition in Bulgaria.
The bomb has been set-off, most likely, by the same hand, which placed the bomb in front of the Galeria weekly headquarters several months ago – this is the hand of the impudent political terror; of the singlehanded power of the mafia politicians from the ruling Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria, GERB, party, who would use any means.
The goal of this blast is to scare us, but it actually reveals the panic that is spreading among those in power. It is the act of hopelessness and despair.
We want to make our point clearly: no bombs, no blows can scare us or stop is. One can blow party headquarters, but not the national cause of rescuing the country."
During a press conference in front of the blasted party headquarters, Atanas Semov, the RZS nomination to run for President at the fall elections, requested round-the-clock security guards for Yanev and himself, saying this was an intimidation attempt.
GERB leader Boyko Borissov reacted to the fall of the Zhelyazkov government during a live broadcast on his official Facebook page, following the mass protests across the country.
The government is making a second clumsy attempt to introduce the state budget.
