The captain of the Bulgarian national team Krassimir Balukov scored the second goal from a penalty kick in the fiftieth minute. Arne Friedrich scored the second goal for Germany five minutes later. Earlier, Dimitur Berbatov scored the first goal for Bulgaria. Michael Ballack scored the first goal for Germany. The game took place at the "Georgi Asparuhov" stadium in the capital Sofia.
