An armed and apparently inebriated passenger has attempted to hijack the bus travelling between Bulgarian Black Sea resort Sunny Beach and the city of Burgas late Monday evening.
The 46-year-old drew out a handgun and demonstratively loaded it to take control of the vehicle.
A woman nevertheless signalized the police by calling 112, and officers reacted swiftly.
They soon managed to intercept the bus and detain the hijacker with one being hurt.
Witnesses have already been interrogated. It was determined that the handgun was a gas gun remodelled into a combat weapon.
The perpetrator, who has a criminal record, has been detained. Investigations are underway.
