Garra Dembele, the star French-Malian striker of Bulgaria's Levski Sofia, has signed a contract with Germany's Freiburg.
FC Levski Sofia will be paid EUR 2 M for Dembele, and will receive additional sums depending on the performance of the French-Malian forward in the Budgesliga. Levski are also to receive a percentage of the sum that Freiburg will make if they re-sell Dembele.
Earlier this week, sources from Levski announced that Dembele will almost certainly be sold to a German team.
According to a comment Freiburg director Dirk Duffner posted on the team's website, the German team have been watching the young player and are certain he will be a perfect fit for them.
The 25-year-old Garra Dembele has been a hit in the Bulgarian football championship after Levski acquired him from Lokomotiv Plovdiv. He scored 26 goals in 24 matches in the Bulgarian championship, 8 goals in 12 Europa League matches, and 2 goals in the Bulgarian Cup tournament.
English Premiership clubs Blackburn Rovers, West Ham and Everton as well as Germany’s Werder Bremen had also been reportedly interested in buying Dembele.
