Bulgaria: Bulgarian PM Borisov Showered with Inventive Gifts for His Birthday "The world makes a way for a person who knows where he is going," reads the collage that the GERB party headquarters presented to Borisov for his birthday.

Bulgaria's Prime Minister Boyko Borisov turned 52 on Monday, June 13, receiving plenty of presents by his party and aides in spite of his declarations he did not want any.

The headquarters of his party, the ruling center-right formation GERB, presented to him a collage of photos of his, entitled "Boyko in Pictures" (see photo), and showing him in various situations from his political career – meeting Barack Obama, Angela Merkel, Vladimir Putin, Pope Benedict XVI, Jose Manuel Barroso, but also playing sports, campaigning, hugging little kids and an elderly woman, and being with dog.

In the middle, the collage features a photo of Borisov with the sentence, "The world makes a way for a person who knows where he is going." The collage was selected from among several ideas and came from the press center of GERB.

The Parliamentary Group of the GERB party presented Borisov with a donation of BGN 30 000 (BGN 250 from each of GERB's 117 MPs) to be spent on an infrastructure project in his native town of Bankya. Their rationale is that Borisov has not really spent state money on Bankya, a Sofia suburb, because he did not want to be accused of favoring his hometown. The idea came from Krasimir Velchev, head of the group and Borisov's neighbor in Bankya.

Borisov's closest aide, Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov, presented him with a chess set, saying that the PM loves playing chess in his free time.

"The Prime Minister is always the best," Tsvetanov explained when asked if Borisov is any good in chess, "The better man must always win in such a game. The PM hates arranged victories. He loves real victories and this is the great thing about every match with him."

The Bulgarian Orthodox Church served a prayer for health and salvation of the PM in the Divontiski Monastery "Holy Trinity", which Borisov himself visited, explaining he has been visiting the monastery since he was a child.

When asked about his birthday wish, Borisov said he wished for all of Bulgaria being healthy and well.

Earlier on Monday, Borisov was visited and greeted for his birthday by top world model Adriana Sklenarikova
