Bulgaria's top female tennis player, Tsvetana Pironkova secured herself an easy victory in the first round of her first clay court tournament for the year in Marbella, Spain.
The 23-year old Bulgarian defeated Spaniard Maria Teresa Torro-Flor with 6:2, 6:2, thus earning 30 points for her WTA ranking. Pironkova, who is currently ranked 36th, may face a much tougher challenge, as she will play either Russian star Dinara Safina or Dutch Arantxa Rus.
Earlier on Tuesday, Grigor Dimitrov, Bulgaria's top male tennis player, advanced in the second round at the Houston ATP tournament after smashing German Reiner Schuettler 6:0, 6:2.
