As many as 31% of all Bulgarians would vote for a new political party if such is created, according to a survey done by the country's National Center for Public Opinion Research.

Among those excited by the prospect of a new political formation emerging, supporters of the ruling centrist-right GERB party unsurprisingly constitute the smallest share, along with followers of the far rightist Ataka, GERB's closest ally, and the rightist Blue Coalition, which initially suppooted the government but has grown increasingly critical towards it.

Some 58% of all citizens surveyed have stated that the ruling centrist-right GERB party has no existing alternative, while 10% believe the Bulgarian Socialist Party would cope better, the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency informs.

According to 33% of the surveyed Bulgarians reckon that crime fighting is the current government, while 29% say it has no achievements whatsoever. 20% praise the government for working on highways, however, a mere 5% believe that it works in a transparent fashion and has the political will to carry out reforms.

33% of Bulgaria's citizens support the government, which is a 10% drop year on year. Prime Minister Boyko Borisov still enjoys the highest rating among all Bulgarian politicians - 56.3 %, followed closely by Regional Ministry Rosen Plevneliev with 55.9 and Agriculture Minister Miroslav Naydenov with 51.5. President Georgi Parvanov has 40.9.
