Bulgaria's top female tennis player Tsvetana Pironkova has been seeded 3rd in the main draw of the Monterrey Open tournament in Mexico.

Seeded 1st and 2nd are Jelena Jankovic from Serbia and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova from Russia.

The other seeded are Germany's Julia Goerges, Latvia's Anastasija Sevastova, Italy's Sara Errani, Czech Republic's Iveta Benesova and Slovenia's Polona Hercog.

The USD 220 000 tournament in Monterrey begins on February 28.

Pironkova will use the tournament to prepare for other championships in March – Indian Wells and Sony Ericsson Open in Miami.

Bulgaria's top tennis player currently ranks 33rd in the world.
