Customs agents from the Sofia Customs bust early Saturday a warehouse for contraband cigarettes in the very downtown of the Bulgarian capital.
The agents checked a commercial facility and its storage and did not find violations, but when they entered a basement of the same building they found 10 400 cigarette packs without excise labels.
According to the preliminary probe, the basement was used as storage of the establishment, which offered the cigarettes to customers.
The value of the seized packs is estimated at BGN 40 000.
The investigation is ongoing.
