Tuesday hundreds of Tunisian citizens continued for the third day straight their protest in front of the cabinet of PM Mohamed Ghannouchi, asking him to resign.
Protests have been unflinching since the fleeing of President Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali on January, and the formation of a new cabinet.
Ghannouchi has been Tunisia's PM ever since 1999. Controversy flared in the country regarding the involvement of members of his new cabinet, as well as of Ghannouchi himself, with Ben Ali's regime.
On the other hand, commentators point out that given the nature of Ben Ali's rule the country has at its disposal few experienced politicians who have had no ties with the escaped President.
Tuesday, the government declared it is giving EUR 260 M for poor rural regions in the central part of Tunisia.
In the past days, clashes have been ongoing between protesters and security forces.
