Because of the inclement weather that threw Moscow's major airport in chaos, a Moscow-Sofia plane arrived in Bulgaria with a 17-hour delay.

The plane with 100 passengers on board managed to take off from Moscow's Sheremetyevo only at 2 am on Wednesday, and arrived in Sofia at 4:28 am.

An additional delay of one hour was caused by the fact that 14 passengers did not show up, and the airport authorities had to unload their baggage, which had been loaded.

Most of the passengers are Russians arriving to Bulgaria for New Year's, to celebrate it with friends, or heading straight to the Bulgarian mountain resorts.
