The electricity supply for Bulgaria's winter resorts is completely adequate and no shortages are to be expected, according to National Electric Company (NEK) president Krasimir Parvanov.
Parvanov's words come in the wake of a string of accidents over the summer that left some of Bulgaria's seaside resorts without electricity. The reason was old electricity networks, combined with the great number of beds.
Saturday the 2010-11 winter season is opening in Bulgaria's biggest mountain resort, Bansko in the Pirin mountainst. The season in Borovets, Rila, is opening next Saturday, December 18.
Speaking for the Bulgarian National Radio, Parvanov said that there are still some problems outstanding with the electricity supply of Borovets, but improvements are underway, and no shortages are to be expected.
He recalled that last year there were some problems with electricity load in Bansko and Pamporovo.
