Representatives of the US Republican party, who are on a visit to Bulgaria, voiced strong criticism Thursday for the American Ambassador to Sofia, James Warlick.
Daniel Holloran and Steven Stites are in the country at the invitation of the leader of the Conservative Order, Law and Justice (RZS) party, Yane Yanev.
Holloran apologized to all Bulgarians for what he called "Warlick's interference in the country's internal affairs," saying the Ambassador should not take sides and get tangled in political debates, Darik radio reported.
The Republicans are conducting training of RZS activists from municipal organizations for the upcoming 2011 local and presidential elections.
They say the formula for success has 3 components – direct connection with local voters, trust, and lack of corruption.
Holloran further stated he was worried about the situation in Bulgaria over the lack of trust in the current cabinet and the severe budget cuts in the education and culture sector.
The two Republicans will be official guests of the national conference dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the RZS youth organization to be held in on December 11 at "Bulgaria" Hall in Sofia.
