A total of 7 employees of the Bulgarian State Railway Company (BDZ) have been detained for stealing large amounts of fuel from tank wagons owned by the Lukoil gas company.

According to the police, the apprehended employees have stolen diesel from the wagon maintenance facility where they work. It is located near the Rousse railway station in North-Central Bulgaria.

The large amounts of diesel have been drained and then secretly kept in the same wagon maintenance warehouse.

The police have been working on this case for near a month.

In August, 11 people, 4 of whom were police officers, were apprehended during a special operation entitled "The Sheiks." The crime ring drilled a Lukoil fuel line and also drained considerable amounts of fuel.
