There is no direct threat of a terrorist attack in Bulgaria, according to an official letter distributed to the media Wednesday by the State Agency for National Security (DANS).

DANS further inform that they have developed a plan for the active neutralization of individuals and structures connected to terrorist activities and for the safeguarding of the population and facilities that could be potential targets.

There is also additional funding slated for countering any possible terrorist activities on Bulgarian territory.

All authorities in the country are actively sharing real time information and DANS is in constant communication and consultations with the Interior Ministry, the letter explains.

The information was distributed a day after a series of bomb threats and several explosions in Greece and other EU Member States.
