The former Executive Director of the Bulgarian Agriculture Fund, Kalina Ilieva, has asked for assistance the trade union known as Podkrepa (Support) Labor Confederation.
Ilieva was recently dismissed from the post, deemed crucial for the absorption of EU funds since it deals with payments from the SAPARD program, after it was revealed she was pregnant and will have to go on maternity leave.
During the Monday press conference of the union, it was announced that a close relative of the ex CEO has approached "Podkrepa," asking them to protect her rights.
The leader of the union, Konstantin Trenchev, has requested all paperwork in order to decide if they can help Ilieva.
Trenchev's Deputy, Dimitar Manolov, promised Monday "Podkrepa" would apply all possible effort to protect the CEO if she was fired because she became a mother, but declined offering further details.
