Sofia Airport's Terminal 3 Construction Set to Begin in Early 2026
The director of "SOF Connect," the airport's concessionaire, stated to BNR that Sofia Airport anticipates accommodating 7.4 million passengers this year
"WYG Bulgaria and partners" will most likely be the consultancy to audit the construction of Bulgaria's Struma Highway.
This became clear Thursday as the Bulgarian Road Infrastructure Agency made public the offers of the six bidders in the tender for a feasibility study and audit of the highway that is supposed to run from the capital Sofia to Kulata on the Greek border.
WYG Bulgaria, a subsidiary of the UK-based consultancy WYG Group, has offered the lowest price for its services, a total of BGN 450 000 without the 20% VAT.
The highest bid of BGN 1.2 M belonged to the Spanish "Getinsa Ingenieria".
Even though the formal decision on the winner of the tender will be made by the Governing Board of the road agency, WYG Bulgaria will probably be selected because the low price is the major criteria.
The winner will have to prepare an analysis of the costs and benefits from the construction of the Struma Highway. Some of the sections of the 156-km road are promised to be completed by the end of the Borisov Cabinet's term in 2013.
A total of 19 km have been completed so far. The Struma Highway will start at the Daskalovo road junction to the west of Sofia, where it will be connected with the short Lyulin Highway, and will run to the border with Greece.
