The Bulgarian PM Boyko Borisov has hinted to journalists that he might run for president next year.

His vague statements about a possible presidential bid in the 2011 elections came at the Kamchiya resort complex where, together with Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov, he opened a children's health camp "Raduga" owned by the City of Moscow.

Borisov said that as a mayor of Sofia, he visited his counterpart in Moscow, Yury Luzhkov, who told him he should become Bulgaria's prime minister.

"After that I defeated him in the football game at the Luzhniki Stadium (between teams of the City of Moscow and the Sofia Municipality - editor's note), and I became Prime Minister. Since the presidential elections will be next year, I guess I will have to go to Moscow and defeat him again," Borisov said.

This is not the first time Borisov make slips for his potential presidency bid. Occasionally, he makes such hints to the media fueling speculations about turning Bulgaria into a presidential republic.

On the other hand, in May, Borisov announced a potential presidential nomination of Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov.

When asked if he was playing with analysts and journalists whose job is to interpret his words, he said that "playing" was the right word.

Back in May, Borisov said that he put forth Tsvetanov's nomination because the media kept harassing him with questions about who will be the candidate of his party GERB in the 2011 presidential elections.

"Your colleagues don't stop asking and jabbering. That is why I am going to be telling you different things every single day in order to see what kinds of interpretations that will lead to," he told reporters.
