The French authorities will send back to Bulgaria a total of 41 Roma, Darik radio reports Thursday, citing the Bulgarian flag carrier, Bulgaria Air.

The first group includes 13 Roma and will be put on a Varna-bound flight from Paris on August 25. Another 12 will arrive in the Black Sea city on September 10, while the last group of 16 is scheduled to land in the capital Sofia on September 17.

France begins Thursday the deportation of about 700 Roma, mostly from Romania, followed by Bulgaria, who have violated the law. The first flight will transport 79 Romanian Roma.

The French Minister of Immigration, Integration, National Identity and Mutually-Supportive Development, Eric Besson, informed the Romanians have agreed to leave voluntarily in exchange of a cash payment of EUR 300 per adult and EUR 100 per child, in a move to prevent giving money to the same people and their eventual return to France.

Besson admitted the law allows those deported to come back, but legally they will have no place to park their caravans or receive humanitarian help relief.

Bulgarian and Romanian citizens have the right stay in France up to three months, but after that they must show proof they have a job, income and health insurance.
