Sofia Traffic Police Announce Extended Work Hours: Sofia Traffic Police Offices Extend Business Hours The maker of the software "Siemens" estimates that so far 1 million Bulgarians have received their new biometric data passports, which were introduced at the end of March along with new ID cards and driver’s licenses. The employees of the Traffic Police Offices in the Bulgarian capital Sofia will work on two shifts beginning Monday, the Interior Ministry informs.

The counters will be open from 6 am to 7 pm without a break. The changes were made so that the police can better respond to the increased demand of driver’s licenses renewal.

Beginning September 1, the traffic police offices will be open from 6 am to 9 pm without a break. Passport offices will have the same working hours as well – 6 am to 9 pm.
