Bulgarian police from the central town of Tvarditsa apprehended a 34-year-old man, accused of illegal landing of money.

The special police operation, codenamed “Loan Sharks,” was carried out in the town Wednesday after a tip was received for illegal exchange of money at the central town square. A police patrol managed to stop the man as he was trying to leave the scene.

The search revealed 8 debit bank cards belonging to people all from the Tvarditsa area with notes listing the pin codes and ATM invoices.

A second search, carried out in the alleged criminal’s house in the nearby village of Shivachevo, located other illegal documents such as promissory notes and power of attorney letters.

The man is held in the local jail for 24 hours before appearing in front of a judge. The probe is continuing.
