The Bulgarian conservative Order, Law and Justice (RZS) party is submitting with the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office of Cassations an official notification about violations in the National Agency for State Security (DANS).
The information was announced before the Members of the Parliament Thursday by the RZS leader, Yane Yanev.
RZS say DANS violates the law and abuses their powers, and demand to see by the end of September concrete measures against particular DANS employees, who have committed these violations. In case the demand is unfulfilled, the party threatens to notify the EU authorities.
In the beginning of the week, DANS, on their part, announced they will alarm the prosecution over defamation statements of four RZS MPs, who earlier declared that DANS is hiring agents on the base of family ties all while firing the qualified ones.
Yanev said Thursday the above statements are just the tip of the iceberg, and RZS has much more information of abuse. He pointed out it is inacceptable for DANS to voice official threats against MPs in the conditions of parliamentary democracy.
“The agency is used for political goals, for the headquarters of the ruling Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) party. But not even one of the facts we presented has been disproved,” Yanev stated.
GERB leader Boyko Borissov reacted to the fall of the Zhelyazkov government during a live broadcast on his official Facebook page, following the mass protests across the country.
The government is making a second clumsy attempt to introduce the state budget.
