Kosovo Election Results: Albin Kurti’s Coalition Set to Lead Despite No Majority
Kosovo's Prime Minister Albin Kurti, leading the Self-Determination Movement (Vetevendosje), has secured a victory in the country's recent parliamentary election.
The Hague International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia repealed its 2008 acquittal of Ramush Haradinaj, former field commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army and ex-PM of Kosovo, and will start new proceedings against him.
Judge Patrick Robinson, who presides the court said that Haradinaj's previous sentence is probably unjust because of pressure exerted upon some of the witnesses.
Haradinaj will have to face a new trial together with Idriz Balaj and Lahi Brahimaj, his direct subordinates in the Black Eagles special division of the notorious Kosovo Liberation Army, who were with him at the bench in 2007.
All three were detained in the Hague Wednesday.
Ramush Haradinaj was voted Kosovo PM 2004, but served only 100 days before indicted by the Criminal Tribunal.
