A Bulgarian national, identified as Dimitar Rangelov, has been arrested by the police in Brazil over the smuggling of 62 kg of cocaine.

The crime group also included three Croatians, a Macedonian and a man from Monte Negro. They are currently in jail, charged with cocaine trafficking.

The police have been alerted by an anonymous source, and began following the group. The police operation was carried out under the codename “Medusa” in Rio Grande do Sul, the southernmost State of Brazil, and the neighboring Santa Catarina. The value of the illegal drugs is estimated at EUR 1.2 M.

In addition to the cocaine, the police have confiscated a ship and three SUVs which were used to transport the drug to European ports.
