The daughter of the Head of the Sofia Appellate Court waived the right for construction on her property in the Bulgarian Sea town of Primorsko.
Veselin Pengezov's daughter, Ana Pengezova, has submitted an official declaration on Monday after the appeal of the mayor of Primorsko, Lilyana Dimova, for a voluntary waiver of their constructions rights and settlement through an amicable agreement.
For the time being, out of all the magistrate's relatives who have illegally acquired construction rights in the town, only Pengezova has responded to the appeal.
By the end of the week, the municipality of Primorsko will set up a claim against another magistrate's child, Denitsa Urumova, who has already started construction.
The Mayor of Primorsko mandated Monday a suspension of administrative services and procedures of the judges' relatives. The objective was to prevent any attempts for the transfer of rights on the real estate lots on the part of the alleged offenders.
The suspension affects Elka Mincheva Ikonomova, Vanya Panayotova Genkova, Todor Lyubenov Tsvetanov, Denitsa Nikolaeva Urumova, Petar Todorov Popov, and Anna Vesselinova Pengezova.
Earlier this spring it was revealed that three senior judges from the Supreme Administrative Court helped close relatives to obtain building rights for beach-front lots in Primorsko thanks to their acquired status of people on social benefits.
This has lead to the three judges being expelled from the Supreme Administrative Court. It was later revealed that a total of about 400 people on purported “social benefits” have similarly received rights to build in Primorsko.
