Stefan Sofiyanski, Bulgarian former caretaker prime minister and mayor of Sofia, has harshly criticized the current center-right government, saying he would refuse a high position in it if offered.
“If the government does not lead the business and have a clear vision for Bulgaria, we are going to have early elections,” Sofiyanski told private TV channel Pro.BG.
In the morning broadcast of on Monday, Sofiyanski did not save critiques on the previous cabinet as well.
“Stanishev was not prepared at all. He did not do anything. The current government gave a lot of promises, but they are also clogged. In my opinion, this is due to a lack of working habits. If you have to finish something, you will work day and night. But they postpone everything,” Sofiyanski, who has been Bulgaria's PM in 1997 and 10-year mayor of Sofia from 1995, commented on the previous and current government.
He disapproved on the cabinet's lack of strategy, clear vision, and strong economic team, foreseeing early elections.
“The only thing I see is bad goals and fear of reforms. Only the security sphere has been reformed, nothing else. No essential change has been done.”
He also said that if he was responsible, he would have provided additional subsidies for July for the agriculture sphere.
