The new channels will be the local versions of the American programs. Starting June, the subtitles will be replaced with dubbing in Bulgarian. According to Hobbs, the change will make the channel accessible to more people.
The second new channel ”TLC” will be launched in October and will air different genre shows, emphasizing on modern women's lives. “We believe the channel will fill a niche on the market,” Turnbull said.
Along with the launching of the channels, the international company will give more opportunity for the Bulgarian advertisers, said Turnbull, who is head of the Advertising sales department.
For the first time Bulgarian companies will have the opportunity to present their ads as part of the program. Private Bulgarian channel Nova TV will manage all advertising sales for Discovery Communications in the country.
