The first Eurovision Song Contest semi final of 2010 will take place at the Telenor Arena, Oslo, Norway, on Tuesday.
The show will be broadcast live across the continent and beyond as the 17 countries battle it out for 10 places in Saturday's final.
The result of the show will be based on the 20 countries voting (the 17 participating nations plus France, Germany and Spain from the five prequalified finalists), split between 50% televote and 50% jury.
The ten countries with the highest number of points will procede to Saturday's final.
The same rules will apply for the second semi final, to take place two days later on May 27, which will be joined by the Bulgarian contestant Miro.
The Bulgarian delegation to the Eurovision has clearly stated in Oslo its determination to go to the finals, the country being represented by one of its most popular and finest singers – Miro.
Miro rehearsed for the second time on Sunday. All artists performed in their stage costumes, the main colours of which are white and silver.
The official site of the contest describes the song Angel Si Ti, the Bulgarian entry for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest, as “an energetic song that starts like a ballad and changes into an up-tempo dance song“.
Miro will wear a white leather suit, while his backing dancers will all be dressed in silver.
The two female artists will wear silver boots and have angel wings attached to their dresses, with which they cover Miro in the beginning of the performance. His male dancers will appear on stage shirtless, just wearing silver trousers.
The Bulgarian entry will be sung partly in English on the Semi-Final night.
