Ex US Ambassador to Bulgaria Quits as OSCE Envoy, Moves to Russian Law Firm
Former US Ambassador to Bulgaria James Warlick will join Egorov Puginsky Afanasiev & Partners (EPA&P), a Russian law firm, as of January 2017.
The US Ambassador to Bulgaria, James Warlick, voiced Monday his country's willingness to assist Bulgaria in implementing the online health care system in Bulgaria.
The online health care will increase control and lead to more effective use of funding.
Warlick met Monday with Bulgaria's Health Minister, Anna-Maria Borisova, to discuss the health care reform. The US Ambassador recently stated some reforms, including the health care one, are delayed and need to be implemented faster.
Borisova informed Warlick about the current progress: actualization of the so-called electronic health card, adoption of new medical standards, restructuring of hospitals without closing them and creating six hi-tech hospitals in different regions to cover the needs of the entire country.
The Health Ministry is also working on halting the process of mass leaving of medical personnel to take jobs abroad by creating better work conditions, development opportunities, and cash incentives.
