Bulgarian citizen named Tsvetoslav Gechevski has been confirmed as one of the casualties of a cargo plane crash in the Philippines.

Russian TV channel Vesti, which announced the identity of the Bulgarian national, also reported the confirmation on part of the authorities of the Philippines that the two other casualties are Russian pilots Nikolai Banon and Dadim Yahimov.

A Russian-made crashed north of Manila on Thursday as it attempted an emergency landing. The plane had taken off from Mactan, some 30 km away from the site of the crash.

Three men – two Russians and one Uzbek – have been saved from the flames by the rescuers. The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry has not confirmed yet the report about the death of Tsvetoslav Gechevski. The causes of the crash in the Philippines are still unclear.
