The cloud of volcanic ash, which has disrupted severely air traffic across Europe, is moving to the north of Bulgaria, the Ministry of Transport announced Sunday night.

Earlier on Sunday, the Ministry closed Bulgaria’s air space but in the afternoon decided to reopen the airports in Sofia and Plovdiv as the cloud, which resulted from the eruption of a volcano in Iceland, reched only the northern parts of the country.

Bulgaria’s air traffic service has announced that the country’s airspace north of the Belogradchik (in Northwest Bulgaria)- Svilengrad (in Southeast Bulgaria) line remains closed.
