Bulgaria’s 2009 Eurovision song contest representative Krasimir Avramov was arrested by mistake early Thursday as part of the special police operation code-named "The Untouchable”.
Avramov aka the Man-voice, was arrested early Thursday when police raided his home, forced him to lie on the ground, handcuffed him and also covered his head. After they realized their mistake the police apologized to the singer and left.
According to Avramov, the police probably had been provided the wrong information and had mistaken the address.
He added that “I heard doors breaking and thought it must be a burglary. Then I saw the policemen and they rushed to get me down on to the floor. I said I was Krasimir Avramov and things soon became calm. The commented – this is the singer and then apologized and left.”
Ten people were arrested in the operation targeting suspected members of a group for money laundering and tax crimes, which have incurred huge losses to the state, the Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov announced.
