After eight years in power, the Hungarian Socialists have been defeated by the rightists in Sunday’s first round of the Parliamentary Elections.
The center-right Fidesz party of former Prime Minister Viktor Orban won 52.8% of the votes on Sunday.
The socialist party MSZP received only 19.3%. A very close third is the far-right party Jobbik, which got 16.7%.
Runoff elections will take place on April 25 in the parliamentary districts where no MP candidate got more than 50% of the votes in the first round.
