Registration Opens for 43rd Sofia Marathon, Organizers Anticipate Record Turnout

The Bulgarian subsidiary of German company Lufthansa Technik has sealed a deal for the maintenance and repairs of the planes in the fleet of Omar Air, flagship carrier of the sultanate of Oman, the company announced.
The first plane - Boeing B737 Next Generation – has already arrived in Sofia and another six machines are expected by the end of May.
The price of the deal has not bee disclosed.
The maintenance, repair, and overhaul complex located at the airport of the Bulgarian capital Sofia was opened in October 2008.
Together with the Bulgarian Aviation Group, which owns 20% stake in the enterprise, Lufthansa Technik has invested more than EUR 20 M in the modernization of the maintenance facility and the training of the workers.
All types of planes of the series Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 are serviced in the new repair complex, which has a total area of 6 000 square meters, and allows the simultaneous servicing of two planes.
For the first year since its opening the center has served more than 20 planes from the fleet of Lufthansa, Ural Airlines, Aeroflot, Bulgaria Air, Wizz Air.
Lufthansa Technik has four other similar facilities Schoenefeld Maintenance Centre in Berlin, Lufthansa Technik Malta, Shannon Airspace in Ireland, and Lufthansa Technik Budapest.
