Three light earthquakes were felt in a 45 minute period late Thursday in different regions of Bulgaria ranging from 2,1 to 2,8 on the Richter scale.

The first, a 2,1 quake, was felt at18:44 14 km North of Topolovgrad in South East Bulgaria, the Geophysical Institute of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences reported.

Shortly after at 18:47 a slightly stronger 2,2 quake was registered 16 km East of Radnevo in South Bulgaria.

The last and strongest 2,8 quake was registered 60km West pof the Bulgarian capital Sofia. There have been no reports of injuries or any damage to property.

Earlier, on Thursday morning an earthquake measuring 3,2 on the Richter scale was reported at 08:43 on Thursday, near the town of Blagoevgrad in the southwestern part of the country.
