Bulgarian police have seized 7000 bottles of what is alleged to be fake branded and out-of-date alcohol in a warehouse in the Southern Bulgarian town of Svilengrad.

The raid was carried out by police, Customs Agency officers and representatives of the National Revenue Agency as part of a campaign against fake branded alcohol without excise stamps, Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov confirmed.

The warehouse is owned by a 33-year-old man from Kardzhali. He was taken away for questioning by police.

1000 bottles of out-of-date alcohol and 6000 bottles of alleged fake branded alcohol were found at the site.
