Bulgaria Parliament Speaker, Tsetska Tsacheva, has confirmed that Bulgarian MPs will not be receiving a 13th salary or Christmas bonuses.
Tsacheva also stated that there will also be no bonuses or wage supplements for officials at the National Assembly. Savings from the Parliament ‘Salary Fund’ of over BGN 1,3 M will be returned to the central budget, she added.
Tsacheva praised the work of the new Parliament since the center-right GERB party came to power. She said that many positive moves had been made including the adoption of the 2010 budget.
She concluded by adding that the scandal of MPs voting in plenary sessions with other MPs cards has now been more or less solved with only a few incidents reported.
