Woman and Man Found Dead on Pomorie and Varna Shores

Bulgaria’s Interior Minister, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, has pledged measures to be undertaken by the police in the coming days which will lead to a crackdown on organized crime.
Before Wednesday’s meeting of the Council of Ministers, Tsvetanov reiterated Tuesday’s statements of Prime Minister Boyko Borisov that the large number of crimes in the recent days were not accidental but were part of a wider plot against the government.
“We need to hold our ground against this scenario that somebody is trying to provoke – in order to turn this kind of crimes into something normal. I am relying on the police services to do their job in order to put an end to this brazenness,” Tsvetanov said.
He announced of an armed robbery in a casino in Bulgaria’s Black Sea resort town of Pomorie which took place Tuesday night which was resolved within a couple of hours by the police, and the armed attacker who stole BGN 1 300 was captured.
Tsvetanov also mentioned the capturing of 53 kg of heroin on the Bulgarian-Turkey border crossing point at Kapitan Andreevo earlier Wednesday morning as an example of good police work.
