Bulgaria's Foreign Affairs Minister Rumiana Jeleva will pay a visit to the Vatican on Wednesday, the foreign minister announced.

Jeleva will attend the General Audience of Pope Benedict XVI, after which she will have a brief meeting with him.

Within the framework of the visit, Jeleva is scheduled to confer with Cardinal Paul Josef Cordes, President of the Pontifical Council "Cor Unum", and Archbishop Dominique Mamberti, the Holy See's Secretary for Relations with States.

The statement of the Foreign Ministry says the two sides will discuss issues, concerning bilateral relations, religious and cultural dialogue, as well as topics directly related with Jeleva's portfolio as a future commissioner - International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response.
