Bulgaria PM Boyko Borisov stated Saturday that he will aim for pensioners with the smallest pensions to be given Christmas supplements.

Borisov, speaking after opening the largest ice rink in Eastern Europe in downtown Sofia Saturday, said that it would become clear Sunday which Ministries will receive extra money for supplements and bonuses over the Christmas season.

He added that since his center-right GERB government came to power in July “all pensions have been increased and a huge amount of the total budget goes to pensioners.”

“What I would be pleased to do is to give supplements to most people with small pensions – BGN 200-250...about 600 000 people,” Borisov concluded. It was earlier reported that the supplement is likely to be BGN 20-30.
