After a half hour meeting between US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Bulgaria Foreign Affairs Minister Rumiana Jeleva, a press conference was held in Washington.
Clinton stressed her support for abolition of visas for Bulgarian citizens to the US and praised the new center-right GERB government for fighting corruption and improving energy transparency.
Bulgaria's participation in Afghanistan was also discussed. Jeleva declared Bulgaria's readiness to support the efforts of the coalition there.
