Bulgaria Customs Agency Launches Inspection at Lukoil Neftochim
Customs agency head Vanyo Tanov has said authorities are now inspecting Lukoil Neftochim over accusations of price rigging hurled in a report.
Bulgaria’s ambassador to the UK Lyubomir Kyuchukov is facing pressure to resign due to alleged violations in his former position as Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister before the July general elections.
Bulgaria rightist Blue Coalition Co-Chair Ivan Kostov has added his voice to an October 23 statement by the conservative “Order, Law and Justice” Party (RZS) that read: "RZS believes that he (Kyuchukov) is the main culprit for the creation of the huge number of polling stations in Turkey - 123, contrary to the electoral law of Bulgaria. He also did not create a sufficient number of voting stations in other European countries and the United States." Kostov also said that he expects the center-right GERB government to recall him soon.
Kostov added: "I call on President Georgi Parvanov to be a man! To behave like a man, not to hide behind various people. He must perform the obligations that he has under the Constitution.” He added that Parvanov must come out and recall the US Ambassador too after he earlier refused the Parliament’s order to do so.
Kostov’s comments followed the earlier resignation of Bulgaria's ambassador to Turkey Branimir Mladenov after Parvanov allegedly gave into Parliament pressure and asked him to leave his post.
According to members of the right-wing Blue Coalition, the president himself has advised Mladenov to submit his resignation and the same scenario is likely to develop in Washington in a day or two.
