Bulgaria Medicines Agency Cracks Down on Pharmacies over Swine Flu: Bulgaria Medicines Agency Blasts Pharmacies over Swine Flu Drugs The Medicines Agency reported that the antivirus drug ‘Relenza’ is currently available in the pharmacy network but ‘Tamiflu’ is currently only available directly from hospitals. The Bulgaria Ministry of Health has stated that 260 out of every 10 000 people in Bulgaria are currently suffering from swine flu.

The Ministry added that over 4 500 cases of flu or acute respiratory illnesses have been registered over the last week.

Meanwhile the Medicines Agency has reported that many pharmacies are illegally selling antivirus products without a prescription for the treatment of the A(H1N1) virus. The fines to pharmacies that are caught is between BGN 1 000 and BGN 3 000

The Agency reported that the antivirus drug ‘Relenza’ is currently available in the pharmacy network but ‘Tamiflu’ is currently only available directly from hospitals.
