The outgoing ruling partyu United Democratic Forces believes at this point that there are grounds to discuss possible political support for some of the main points of the policy of the Simeon II National Movement without its participation in a coalition government, SNM floor leader and coalition secretary Plamen Panayotov. Ekaterina Mihailova, leader of the Union of Democratic Forces, said the party would support the SNM only if no coalition was formed with the largely ethnic Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF). `We have been left with the impression that a coalition between the SNM and the MRF is fully possible, in which case our support will not be necessary. If the SNM decides to form a government on its own, the UtdDF will leave open the option of supporting the SNM and the form of this support will be worked out with the national movement, Mihailova said. `The SNM was ready at the negotiations to sign a political agreement on participation in a coalition government`, Panayotov said. According to him the door remains open with a view to discussing principled political support for the implementation of the SNM program.
