The traffic police in Bulgaria's Black Sea city of Varna wounded a drunk driver who tried to run over a couple of officers.
The incident happened Saturday morning as a traffic police patrol tried to stop a BMW for speeding in the central quarter “Levski”.
The driver avoided the patrol by switching to the opposite lane, and headed in the direction of the Golden Sands resort.
The police quickly blocked the exits of the city in that direction, and the second time they tried to stop the BMW, the driver tried to run over the police officers.
In order to stop him, the cops shot at the man, wounding him lightly in the shoulder. When he pulled over and was arrested, it turned out that his blood alcohol content was .136.
