The daughter of the kidnapped Sofia businessman, Vene Sotirov, told Darik radio Monday that she still does not know where her father is and what has happened to him.
Six months after Sotirov's disappearance, Irina Sotirova claims she has never been contacted by the abductors. The only information she gets from the police is that they are working on the case, but the details are classified, she says.
“Nothing at all so far. Who cares about my father? He is not a big businessman as others,” Sotirova stated.
64-year-old Sofia businessman, Vene Vasilev Sotirov, was kidnapped on the evening of April 16 in the Sofia "Suhata Reka" district where he lived.
The abduction took place only three days after the release on another kidnapped businessman, Kiro Kirov, whose relatives paid significant cash ransom.
According to Darik information, there have been four abductors - two dressed as policemen, but with uncovered faces and two with hoods bearing a "police" inscription.
The perpetrators, allegedly, forced the businessman into an automobile and drove with extremely high speed in the direction of the town of Botevgrad, east of Sofia. Blood drops, small change, and a set of keys were later found in front of the entrance to the apartment building. Children, who were playing nearby, told the authorities they witnessed the entire incident.
The kidnapping bears the same marks as Kirov's.
Sotirov's relatives notified the police immediately. The case is monitored by the same prosecutors, who are in charge of Kirov's abduction.
Kirov's abductors remain at large.
