Rally Bulgaria has been confirmed as a stage of the World Rally Championship (WRC) next year after months of negotiations came to a successful conclusion.

The Bulgarian Motor Sport Federation says a provisional date for the Rally has been set for the second week of July in 2010.

The WRC confirmed the addition of Bulgaria as the 13th rally in the 2010 calendar in a statement late Thursday from its headquarters in Paris.

The Borovets-based event ran last in July 2009, but was marred by an accident which killed co-driver Flavio Gugelmini.
